How do I get updates on practice: times, AQI, location, weather, etc.?

Real time updates will go through sportsYou. That is the quickest and most efficient way to notify players and parents of any changes. Please sign up for your team as instructed by your coach and make sure notifications are turned on!

How do I register my player?

Registration is completed through the school website Athletics page. You may also need to submit your physical, if applicable and pay any fees.

Coaches are given contact information that you use to register your player. This is the only way we have to contact you, so, make sure that the email(s) that you use for registration is an active email and one you monitor regularly.

What is the practice requirement?

We follow OSAA guidelines on practices very strictly. This is for the safety of your player and his fellow teammates. We will not make exceptions on the practice rules. There are multiple steps to the practice requirement and your coaches will communicate those each season.

What is Moratorium Week and when is it?

Each year, the OSAA sets a moratorium week to give both coaches and players a break. There is a strict "no contact" rule. We communicate the exact dates as soon as we know in hopes that you will schedule any trips during this time and not during required practices, if possible.

Moratorium week for 2024 is July 28 – August 3rd.

Subsequent years can be found here https://www.osaa.org/docs/hand... Note: these are subject to change until confirmed by Coach Hyatt.

How do I contact my player's coach?

You will receive an introduction to your player's coach. We want to know about things that may affect your player or their ability to play. Otherwise, we communicate directly with players on skillset, progress and playing time. We want all players to be comfortable advocating for themselves.

Where do I find information on schedule, rankings and broadcast options?

The OSAA website will give you up to date information.

I'd love to volunteer! How do I find out what the team needs?

Thank you! We use an app/website called SignUpGenius. You can find our team by searching Kristal's email: kristal.hyatt@icloud.com and sign up for various things including packing lunches for travel games, bringing half-time snacks (both have suggestions and specifics), gas cards for our Super Fans, and other items we could use help with.

For Sunday team dinners we use Google sheets and info is sent out multiple times each season. Please contact Kristal if you have questions!

Can I transport my player home after an away game?

Yes, but we need you to sign them out at the bus after the game. Players cannot sign themselves out. Parents cannot sign out other players.

We are ultimately responsible for every single player, so please follow this requirement. We need to know where kids are at all times and as a parent, I'm sure you do as well!

Note: This does not apply if buses are not provided and parents coordinate transportation. Please communicate any changes to the coordinating parents.

I lost my (jersey, pants, girdle, etc.) Can I get a new one?

Each player is issued gear for the season valued at over $2,000. Please take care of the uniforms and equipment. Wash your uniform every week, per instructions on sportsYou for new game uniforms.

Also, wash your practice jersey and pants each weekend. We track what is issued and you are responsible for turning in all gear at the end of the season, washed and dried. If items are not returned, fines will be placed on your student account.

Please don't plan on keeping your jersey as a souvenir or giving it to your girlfriend!

Where can I find information on business sponsorships?

The best time to consider a business sponsorship is in the late spring. This gives us time to order/arrange for all the perks that come with the different levels of sponsorship.

We will absolutely accept donations at any time, but please be aware that all options may not be available due to required lead time.

Detailed information can be found on our main page by clicking on the Sponsorship text with our Storm logo.

Am I allowed to take my son's friend home with me, instead of him riding the bus from an away game?

If they rode the bus to the game (required), they must ride the bus back UNLESS:

  1. Parents write a note stating the date, time, name of player, parents and the driver identified (with a phone number) saying they are allowing their child to ride home with another family.
  2. It must be signed by both parents.
  3. It must be signed by an administrator (Principal or Vice Principal)
  4. Give it to your player's head coach by Wednesday of that week.
  5. You still need to check out, after the game, at the bus.

Coaches will not accept notes the day of travel. Their focus needs to be on the game.

Note: This does not apply if buses are not provided and parents coordinate transportation. Please communicate any changes to the coordinating parents.
